Our local congregation...
The Henderson Seventh-day Adventist Church is a loving, vibrant, and diverse congregation committed to upholding and sharing the teachings of Jesus as found in Scripture, as well as reaching out to our Henderson community and demonstrating the love of Jesus in practical ways.
As Seventh-day Adventists, we gather for worship on the seventh day of the week (Saturday), which the Bible describes as a memorial of God’s work in creating this world; this practice of Sabbath observance is enshrined in the heart of the Ten Commandments and is both modeled and taught in the life and teachings of Jesus (Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 20:8-11; Luke 4:16; Matthew 5:17-18; Mark 2:27-28).
Each Sabbath morning, we gather for a time of Bible study and discussion, known as Sabbath School. We join millions of fellow Seventh-day Adventists around the world in studying the Bible systematically through the aid of a quarterly Bible study guide. One of our local members leads out in teaching and facilitating discussion. Our Sabbath School runs from 9:30 to 11:20 A.M.
Following our Sabbath School time, we have our worship service, which involves the singing of hymns, a time for sharing praise reports and prayer requests, the reading of Scripture, and a 30-45 minute sermon expounding the Word of God. We are usually finished by 1:30 P.M.
We also have some afternoon programs from time to time, involving activities for youth, health presentations, or Bible studies. Additionally, we meet via Zoom on Wednesdays at 6:30 P.M. for prayer and encouragement from Scripture.
We are also active in our community through various events such as our recent health seminar, Vacation Bible School, through community service efforts, through sharing literature promoting wholeness and a fuller understanding of Scripture, and the list goes on.
We invite you to join us for worship on an upcoming Sabbath, or at one of our upcoming events. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into our family!
