Preparing for Pentecost
Fall District Convocation 2024
Sabbath, November 30, will be our first ever district convocation, with the theme Preparing for Pentecost. We will have the privilege of worshiping together with our sister church in Wake Forest as we close a week of Thanksgiving.
With regards to location, there will be no services held at the Henderson SDA Church, as we will be in Wake Forest for this district Sabbath. Morning and afternoon services will be held at the Wake Forest United Methodist Church, and fellowship lunch will be held at the fellowship hall facilities of the historic Friendship Chapel Baptist Church (less than a five minute drive from the Methodist Church).
Our guest speaker for this weekend is Pastor Douglas Na’a. He currently serves as the director of SALT (Soul-Winning And Leadership Training), an evangelism training institute run jointly by the It Is Written media ministry and Southern Adventist University’s School of Religion. He is a dynamic evangelist and soul-winner himself, and is committed to empowering others to making disciples for God’s kingdom, as well.
Please be sure to join us for this high Sabbath as we are sure to be blessed by Spirit-filled messages, vibrant fellowship, and uplifting music (featuring our first ever District Chorale).
Inspiration tells us, “The convocations of the church, as in camp meetings, the assemblies of the home church, and all occasions where there is personal labor for souls, are God's appointed opportunities for giving the early and the latter rain.” —E. G. White, Testimonies to Ministers and Gospel Workers, p. 508. Keep this special weekend in your prayers as we prepare for Pentecost!
